Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, I present this cartoon I found on the Interwebs. Don’t know who this guy is, but many of his ideas made my mouth change shape in an upward fashion.

  1. You man this wasn’t timed for the Oscars? No, not because of “Inception” with its Dream theme, “The King’s Speech”…

  2. BlogD says:

Hate to say it, but it’s been done. Of course, the gag is obvious enough it’s probably been done tons of times. The Onion’s “Our Dumb Century” publication did it about 7 years back:

Brothers and sisters, I had a dream.

I had a dream in which I soon realized my friend was no longer Morton Walsh, but was now TV funnyman Jackie Gleason. And the scene became not one of tranquility. No, it was obvious to me that Jackie Gleason and I were in danger from a giant roll of paper towels. Why there was such an object, I do not know, but that roll of paper towels struck within the depths of our souls a raging fear, and we ran from the monstrosity as fast as we could carry us. But we did not move. As mightily as we tried to lift our feet, it seemed an invisible quicksand kept us from moving them. We could not outrun the giant household item.

I had a dream last night.

I had a dream in which we suddenly overcame our inability to move and found ourselves in exile in an underground cave. But it was more than an underground cave. It was as if we were on a concrete path in some sort of futuristic city. In this city they had flying automobiles, and people dressed in strange costumes. And Jackie Gleason was no longer with me. Now, my mother was there. I do not know why.

I know, a joke got repeated, stop the presses. I’m just saying.
