I’ll be absent from Bizarro International Headquarters next week because I’ll be in Tulsa, Oklahoma to visit family, record some music, and attend the opening of a cartoon art show of my work. What it says at the bottom of the poster is true, I am friendly. In truth, I am a bit of an introvert and am not all that comfortable in social situations, but once I put on my game face for one of these events, I’m very nice. The court-ordered anger management courses I took after the now infamous “El Paso Incident” have really helped me a lot.

Any chance you’re coming to Atlanta? I’m very good at saying awkward things to celebrities I admire, making us both uncomfortable! Andy Partridge of XTC, Neil Finn of Crowded House, Adrian Belew of himself… the list stops there, as those are the only 3 I’ve ever spoken to. At least you’re not a musician – perhaps if I met you, I’d just keep my mouth shut, apart from the appropriate “Nice to meet you, big fan, love your work.” After all, I’ll have done all my inappropriate blabbering here on your blog!

Do you have any photos of the stuff you’ll be selling?
I’ll be selling 25 black and white panels from Bizarro; about half will be weekday cartoons, the other half larger, Sunday panels. Oddly enough, I didn’t make a list of which ones I sent and it was over a month ago that I shipped them so I can’t remember which ones they have now. Stupid, I know, but very like me.
lucky me. my neighbor recieves the local paper and shares it with me albeit a week later. i have just recently began reading your comic panel, and i like it. the thing that first attracted me was the art. i am an artist too, and i like in your face, disturbing style art. thanks for the memories. keep your marriage alive, divorce sucks.
